Great Food
Love the French wine and cheese – eat the local food. One of my favourite
foods is prawns and guess what – they are harvests right here. So if you are like me –
enjoy

spot for lunch)
b) The roof – amazing fish and delicious French desert – so rich
c) La Petit Café – booking essential and take insect spray.
d) Le Miretti Gascon – so, so French. Just delightful
e) Le crepe café
Neat places to go – things to do:
a) Amedee Lighthouse
b) Duck island – only we did not get there as the weather was too windy
c) Or completely out there – full day deer hunting (everything provided)
d) Golf at Tina Golf course
e) Hire jet ski, paddle boats, wind surfing
f) Fly fishing for the day.
Useful information
Shops: generally open at 9am to midday and then from 2pm – 5.30pm. Stores in Noumea
are closed on Sundays but around the Bays they open.
Tipping: is not customary
Weather: New Caledonia has two seasons: a warm and humid season from November to
March and a cooler season from June to September. Rainfall, which is generally sporadic, is concentrated over two humid seasons: from December to April and again in June
Average temperature: 30 degrees in the hot season to 18 degrees in the cooler season
